8 Week Online Mindfulness Course for Deeper Insight & Grounding 5th March 2025
This 8 week course is designed to nurture and build on your existing practice. Whether you have completed the first 8 week course for Health & Wellbeing with me, or simply have your own established and regular practice, this course will explore how we can attain deeper insights, achieve grounding and ultimately change our experience of life.
This course is not suitable for absolute beginners. Please contact me if you would like to discuss your suitability.
Over the 8 weeks we will explore different topics, theories and practices all designed to help you understand where your practice might lead you next. The course is a mixture of presentation by me, group discussion, movement and meditation as well as reading for you to complete in your own time. Topics include rediscovering our true nature, the physical effects of meditation, energy and how to store it and avoid depletion, focus and concentration and what enlightenment really means and how it is relevant to us today.
The course is based on teachings from the Zen tradition which has been practised in Japan since the 9th Century, but are taught in a way that is up to date and takes into account our modern lifestyles.
The price is for 8 classes of 90 minutes each and includes all course materials and guided meditations to keep. The sessions will run every week from 7.30pm to 9pm via the Zoom platform.
In order to get the most from this course you will need to commit to 8 weeks of daily home practice of around 30 minutes, some light reading and other mindfulness techniques that you can incorporate easily into your daily life.
Additional Information
There is some light reading material which accompanies the course for you to read at home, and this will help you to consolidate your learning. In addition to the reading, every week more formal home-learning will be set, and it is essential that in order to get the maximum benefit from the course you commit to a daily 30 minute mindfulness practice, which will have been taught in class the previous week. If you have any uncertainties about being able to commit this time please do speak to me before booking your place. There are also some other shorter practices which you will be encouraged to adopt over the duration of the course. These do not require a special time commitment.
Mindful movement is part of this course, and every consideration will be given to your own ability so the course is suitable for all.
Refunds & Terms
By booking your ticket you understand that you are holding a space, so reservations for this course are non-refundable. In the unlikely event that Kate Hughes Meditation has to cancel this event due to unforeseen circumstances you understand that you will receive a full refund. In the event that you are unable to attend a session and would like to catch up, the session will be recorded and a link sent to you. The contents of the link will remain the property of Kate Hughes Meditation and are not to be shared with others not on this course.
