Kindfulness: a five-week compassion course Online 14th November 2024 7.30pm
During the five weeks we will be exploring self-compassion in a gentle and mindful way, and we will also be expanding our compassion towards others using different techniques and meditations.
Self-compassion can be something that we all struggle with, often putting others needs before our own. The reality is that we cannot expand our kindness to others effectively if it doesn't include us.
According to Professor Richard Davidson, we have 6 different emotional styles. These can depend on several things including how we were brought up, our early life, and our genes. Several studies have shown how mindful mediation can help us to optimise these styles which include our resilience, outlook on life, self-awareness, and social intuition.
During the five weeks we will practice five different mindful meditations, all of which have a foundation in compassion. It will be helpful if you have some experience of meditation, but it is not essential.
The course fee is £125 and this includes your meditation recordings to keep. There will be suggested homework and exercises to do in between the online classes, all of which will be recorded.
Each session will take place via Zoom from 7.30-9pm every Thursday, finishing on 12 December 2024. The sessions will be recorded.
At the end of the five weeks it is my hope that you will have a more loving attitude towards yourself, and that your practice will help others close to you, but also have a much wider ripple effect making our world a kinder place to be.

By booking your ticket you understand that you are holding a space, so reservations for this course are non-refundable. In the unlikely event that Kate Hughes Meditation has to cancel this event due to unforeseen circumstances you understand that you will receive a full refund. In the event that you are unable to attend a session and would like to catch up, the session will be recorded and a link sent to you. The contents of the link will remain the property of Kate Hughes Meditation and are not to be shared with others not on this course.
